4️⃣ “But I’m not stressed.”
Stress is NOT a feeling; it’s a physiological state!
When you survive on stress hormones for decades, it feels “normal” and you can become addicted to that state.
👉 OK, so now what should I do?
1️⃣ Get your cortisol in check: it impacts all other hormones & physiological processes in the body.
2️⃣ Focus on more nourishing activities:
- 💆♀️ Get regular massages.
- 🛀 Take an epsom salt bath.
- 🌞 Get natural morning light
- 🛌 Go to bed early.
- 🫶Set boundaries and ask for help.
- 🥹Stop trying to do it all.
3️⃣ Get intentional about exercise.
- 💪Lift heavy enough weights 3x/week.
- 🚶♀️Become a walker.
- 🏃♀️Be intentional about all other cardio.
Still want to move? WALK.
It’s the only cardio that REDUCES cortisol.
4️⃣ Most of all: be PATIENT.
If you’ve been in a chronic state of stress for years, your body is not going to change overnight.
5️⃣ Join a community like The Green Door Life of women (and men!) who are aging gracefully & defying statistics.
And guess what... men are prone to this over-stressed state, too. It just takes longer to show up.
