Did you know that when it comes to fat loss, water is THE most important macronutrient? You can eat perfectly balanced all day everyday and exercise plenty...
But if you’re even slightly dehydrated, you better believe that your body will instantly slow down the rate at which it burns calories. Why?
Your kidneys’ main job is to filter the blood. If they are inhibited via dehydration, they call upon the liver to assist.
And anytime your liver steps in to help with other tasks - such as removing alcohol from the body - it temporarily detracts from its main function of metabolizing stored body fat.
In other words, your liver will be operating at 50% fat burning capacity if your kidneys are suffering from dehydration!
That’s why our members aim for 80-140 oz of water daily depending on height, weight, nutrition intake, and physical activity.
Our favorite way to start the day is chugging 48 oz of water first thing in the morning, before coffee. That way we’re well ahead of our goal and digestion is primed for a full day of eating.
The rest of our water comes in between meals, with a full 40 oz consumed around our workouts. Grab a big reusable 40 oz water bottle and make it easy on yourself!
Coffee, sparkling water, and soda don’t count 😜 Hit reply if you want more information as to why! We could write a book about it : )
